About Us

About Lujean:

I am a full time teacher at Simi Valley Adult School, instructing over 100 students ranging in age from their 20's to 90's. I also teach at various quilt shops. I'm privileged to have access to a vast amount of resources for inspiration and knowledge in all phases of quilt making; through my friendships from teaching, and as a member of Friendship Groups and Quilt Guilds. At Long Beach State University in the early 70's, I completed studies for my B.A. in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Textile Design. My early years were devoted to creative weaving and graphic design, and subsequently I migrated towards Quilting. I have a full time California Teaching Credential in Textiles and Art for Adult Education.

I have held offices as President, Treasurer, and Parliamentarian of Conejo Valley Quilters in Conejo Valley, as well as office at the Simi Valley Quilt Guild (both in California).

I have completed over 250 quilt projects, have had the good fortune to be sponsored as "One Woman" shows at various locations, and have enjoyed being received into juried shows. A special honor was the acceptance of one of my quilts designed for President Clinton including his note of thanks.

I have delivered lectures and workshops at quilt guilds in Southern California for the past ten years. I continue to design custom commissioned quilts for individuals and decorators across the country.
